The city of Cold Lake along with the town and MD of Bonnyville are working together to make a bid for the 2018 Alberta Summer Games.
Each municipality has sent delegates to a joint committee that will work on bringing the games to the Lakeland.
Bonnyville town councillor Lorna Storochuk has been appointed to oversee the committee and represent council’s interests.
In a successful bid, Cold Lake would host the bulk of the events, but surrounding communities would host events as well.
The committee had its first meeting on October 1st.
