NLSD Looking into Quiter Entrance for Cold Lake High School

With the Cold Lake Energy Center scheduled for expansion, Northern Lights School District is looking into remodeling the entrance to Cold Lake High school, sectioning it off more from the rest of the building.

The entrance to the school is off to the side of the main entrance and reception area of the Energy Centre. This makes for a few headaches. Northern Lights Communications Officer Nicole Garner explains that Energy Centre patrons will often approach school staff asking Energy Centre related questions by mistake. The noise level from the Centre can also harm productivity.

The district has been looking into a more closed off entrance since 2010, but resources have had to go elsewhere. Upcoming expansion to the Energy Center however, would make for a good time to go through with those plans. The current proposal is installing glass walls and a door at the entrance at a price tag of roughly 200,00 dollars.
