An investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Cold Lake man has led to the arrest of another.
Police responded to a complaint of an assault around 11:00pm on February 1st at a private property on the Cold Lake First Nations. Mounties say an 18-year-old man, identified as Justin Alexander Janvier was found unconscious and taken to the Cold Lake Hospital before being airlifted to an Edmonton Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries he sustained during the incident.
As a result of the investigation into the incident,  Mounties arrested 30-year-old Brent Janvier of Cold Lake First Nation. Police note the accused and deceased were known to each other and this is not a random act of violence. RCMP say Janvier was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
