4 Wing Cold Lake plans to dazzle spectators in 2016 with an overhauled airshow.
Officials presented their proposal to city hall on September 8th. The show would last for two days with a large cast of performers and events throughout the city in the evening. People and groups who have expressed interest in being a part of the festivities include the SkyHawks, Red Bull, the Snowbirds and famous astronaut Chris Hadfield. The goal is to have the show take place every two years.
The committee is also keen to emphasize the economic benefits of the show. 2014’s is estimated to have generated over half a million dollars for the city.
