Police dog covered 10 KM to get suspect

A man from Lac La Biche is facing charges after a 10-kilometre hike from the scene of a theft. Mounties say on December 2nd they received a call that a man was trying to break into a seasonal property near Floating Stone Lake.

RCMP made their way to the cabin where the St. Paul police dog went to work tracking which way the suspect had gone. After 10 kilometres, the dog found him and the man was arrested.

23-year-old Jade John Mountain faces a plethora of charges including break-an-enter. Mounties say he is also a suspect in other break-ins in that area. He’ll be in Lac La Biche court on December 9th.
