Spike strip ends chase

A pair of men are facing charges after a brief chase ended with spike strips, says the St. Paul mounties. It happened on December 3rd at around midnight.

The RCMP says they were called out to a rural property after the landowner noticed a suspicious vehicle driving around. Mounties caught up to the car down the road but it took off.

The pursuit was ended after police deployed spike strips and the two occupants tried to get away on foot.

A 37-year-old from Wetaskiwin and 27-year-old from Saddle Lake now face charges including possession of property obtained by a crime. They made appearances in St. Paul court today.
