CNRL says budget up for next year

One oilfield company with major holdings in the Lakeland says their outlook on 2020 is positive. Canadian Natural Resources announced their budget for next year.

In a release for shareholders on their website, CNRL says the 2020 plan is about $250 million higher than last year. The company also says it expects about 60 new drilling locations to be added in the new year.

CNRL says the additional money in their budget should help create the equivalent of about 1,000 full-time positions.

The total budget for the company runs at just over $4 billion. A major cause for the increase was cited as the province’s decision to eliminate curtailments on certain conventional drilling.
