Suspected DUI driver stopped by public and cops

Police in Bonnyville say a few concerned residents stepped in to make sure a woman in no condition to drive didn’t leave a local parking lot. It happened on December 1st.

Mounties say they received more than a few calls about an impaired driver riding around with a toddler in the parking lot of one of the 7/11’s in town. Meanwhile, while they waited for police, concerned people started to box the suspects’ vehicle in with their cars.

The driver tried to smash her way out of the impromptu box but police arrived on the scene and arrested her. The woman now faces a variety of charges and is due in court on January 21st.

Police say although this time had a good ending, the public is urged to not get involved for their own safety.
