The Town of Elk Point has given its stamp of approval on an interim budget. In a press release on the town website, officials say they’ll go with a $4.3 million budget that will take about $1.7 million dollars in taxes to balance.
The rest will come from utility fees as well as government grants. The town says some notable capital projects on the 2020 schedule include a new backhoe for the community, street work on Railway Avenue and an $870,000 sanitary sewer lift station.
The budget will stay interim until it is locked in later in 2020 after tax assessments are completed and tax bills are figured out.
