Lac La Biche mounties say a man wanted by Fort McMurray police is back in police custody. Police say they were called out to a gas station in the hamlet Saturday afternoon after someone reported a suspicious man sitting in a truck.
When officers arrived the man attempted to take off on foot. Eventually, the suspect doubled back and then tried to jump in a police cruiser. He was pulled out by mounties but not before he put the cruiser in reverse, hitting another car in the process.
A 32-year-old man from Janvier is now facing new charges including possession of property obtained by a crime. He’ll answer to those charges in Bonnyville court Tuesday.
