Police looking for witness after Hwy 36 arrest

St. Paul mounties are looking for a witness to come forward after an arrest ended with a struggle. Police say on November 12th they were called to the Cork Hall near Highway 36 after reports of an intoxicated man near the road.

A mountie was on the scene quickly and arrested the man for his own safety. It was during the arrest where the RCMP officer says he was hit in the face, head and neck. A TASER was used and eventually the man was subdued.

Police are looking to talk with a woman who was pulled over and witnessed the incident but left before talking to the officer. She was driving a white Ford Edge.

A 40-year-old Saddle Lake man is now facing charges including assault of a police officer. He’s due in St. Paul Court November 28th.
