Remembrance day offers reflection

The Lakeland joined with the globe Monday to stop, remember and give thanks. Remembrance Day ceremonies were held across the region by different Royal Canadian Legion branches.

It was standing room only inside the AECOM Field House at the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre while services were also conducted at the Energy Centre in Cold Lake and Rec Centre in St. Paul. Veterans Canada says there are about 42,000 World War 2 and Korean War vets left living with their average age sitting at 92 years old.

This was the 101st anniversary of the armistice signed that ended the First World War as well as the 74th year since the Second World War ended in 1945.
