Tributes are pouring in for a Lakeland chuckwagon racing legend. The World Professional Chuckwagon Association posted an obituary for driver Ray Croteau.

Croteau, whose farm was located just east of Bonnyville, passed away on October 30th at the age of 91. He was known for his famous rainbow wagon “The Spirit of Bonnyville”. Croteau was a WPCA driver beginning in 1982 but was on other circuits before that.

His son Bert and grandson Rae Croteau Jr. also went on to have chuckwagon racing careers. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Bonnyville.
