70-year-old man charged after threats to schools

Police in St. Paul say threats against a pair of Lakeland schools have landed an Ashmont man in trouble. Mounties say they were alerted to the threats Sunday afternoon after a 70-year-old man threatened to “shoot up” the Ashmont School and schools in Saddle Lake and the White Fish Lake First Nations.

Mounties found the man and charged him with three counts of uttering threats. The RCMP reminds the public that any complaints made regarding threats will be taken seriously and charges will be laid where applicable.

Anyone who has information on this instance or other cases of threats is urged to call the St. Paul RCMP at (780) 645-8888 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
