Drunk driver had gun, ammo: St. Paul mounties

An Edmonton man is facing charges after St. Paul police say they caught him driving both impaired and with a gun. Mounties say on October 30th they spotted a vehicle with a license plate that didn’t match.

Police tried to pull it over but it took off. Eventually, the car was chased down a dead-end road where it hit a dump truck and came to a stop. Mounties arrested the driver without incident.

A search of the vehicle turned up a sawed-off bolt action rifle and a large quantity of ammunition. The 23-year-old driver is expected in Lac La Biche court on November 4th.
