Inquiry report released on death of St. Paul priest

A fatality inquiry into the death of a St. Paul priest has been released. The report, prepared by provincial court Judge Robert Shaigec, details the events that took place in the town back in May of 2014 that led to the death of Father Gilbert Dasna and John Carlos Quadros.

The RCMP says Quadros shot Dasna five times at close range inside the rectory. He then jumped in a truck and drove around town, where he fired multiple shots at both the RCMP station as well as responding police. Eventually, Quadros shot himself after a shootout with the officers.

Three mounties were injured. The report believes that Quadros did not know Dasna before the shooting. It also made no recommendations to prevent a similar incident.
