A popular vetrinary program in the MD of Bonnyville will be back in 2020. MD council has given the go-ahead to bring back the Veterinary Services Incorporated program back for another year.
The program relieves the burden on producers in the area by paying for about 50 percent of the cost of certain veterinary procedures, not including medication. Council says in 2019, almost 500 area ranchers took advantage of the program.
The cost to be a part of the program was estimated at about $119,000 for the MD. It also encourages more vets to study and work on farm animals.
