Fire-related false alarms won’t see a penalty, but the MD of Bonnyville wants to see them cut down. MD council met back on October 16th and ironed out where to go when it comes to false alarms dispatching crews out to situations that turn out to be non-emergencies.
The council has decided that people or companies won’t see charges from a potential fals alarm bylaw. Instead, owners of property that use fire alarms will be meeting with public safety officers to try and avoid unfortunate situations.
The MD also hasn’t ruled out a public awareness campaign to help cut down on the alarms.
