MP Brian Storseth continues to highlight the benefits of CETA

The Canada- European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade agreement is said to benefit hard-working individuals in Alberta, especially in key sectors of the local economy.

Member of Parliament for Westlock – St. Paul Brian Storseth continues to highlight the many benefits of CETA, saying the historic agreement with the European Union is a big win for workers, businesses and families right here in the Lakeland community.

Storseth believes this is a long-term positive for the country as well as the province.

The EU is Canada’s second-largest trading partner and the world’s largest integrated economy, with more than 500 million consumers and a GDP of 17 trillion dollars.

“You’re talking about opening up a market of 500-million people to our products and this is something we have been talking about for a long time in Alberta, we need more markets for all of our products and this is a big step forward,” explains Storseth.

CETA is by far Canada’s most ambitious trade initiative, broader and deeper in scope than the historic North American Free Trade Agreement.
