Municipal District of Bonnyville Public Safety Officers will be executing early morning patrols of the La Corey North Resource Road and Highway 892 to Imperial Oil.
The patrols start at 4 a.m. in order to catch the early morning traffic. Patrols have been highly successful in catching aggressive drivers on the highways and being a visible presence in the early morning peak traffic period.
In last week’s presentation to Council, Bonnyville Detachment Staff Sgt. Luis Gandolfi notes RCMP will be running a series of high volume vehicle stops on Highway 28 and Highway 41 north of La Corey to reduce speeding and traffic incidents on the two roadways.
Gandolfi also added the detachment was dealing with an increase of thefts of firearms from vehicles, so he encouraged hunters to remove firearms from their vehicles.
