Ballots finalized with two weeks to go

The ballots are now finalized as the Lakeland heads to the federal polls in two weeks’ time. Elections Canada says the tickets were locked in on October 2nd.

The Lakeland riding ballot has seven candidates on it including all four major political parties in Canada. Conservative Party candidates Shannon Stubbs has represented that riding since 2015.

Meanwhile on the Fort McMurray – Cold Lake ticket five candidates will appear on the ballot. The newest addition before the finalization was New Democratic Party candidate Matthew Gilks. Conservative candidate David Yurdiga has held that riding since 2015 as well.

The Lakeland riding will have the chance to hear from certain candidates on Tuesday evening. The Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce is holding a forum at Dr. Bernard Brosseau School.
