Wanted man causes lockdown in Glendon

A school in the Lakeland was temporarily put on lockdown on Thursday while a wanted man was arrested by police. The Bonnyville RCMP say they were called to Glendon after reports of a man carrying a large knife through the village.

Mounties then say that Glendon School was put on lockdown for a short time followed by a “hold-and-secure” to ensure students safety. The man was chased into some brush where he was eventually caught by the RCMP using the police dog.

Police are identifying the suspect as 30-year-old Derek Drake. Drake had been wanted by Cold Lake mounties after a search on a home near there.
