Cold Lake working on new recycling drop-offs

Cold Lake will have two new spots to drop of recycling, say city officials. On Monday the announcement was made that a pair of recycling drop-off centres are due to be built.

The drop-offs will be located at both the Energy Centre as well as the old Grand Centre Hotel site on 50th Street. Work is also underway at the Transfer Station for a brand new Materials Recycling Facility.

“This is an exciting venture for the City of Cold Lake, as we branch out into a more convenient recycling process for the community,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “These sites are meant to give residents a convenient place to drop off of recyclable items, in addition to regular curbside recycling.”

The city had contracted recycling services to the Cold Lake Recycling Centre in the past. That contract was due to end at the end of this month.
