Liberal candidate launches election campaign

The Fort McMurray-Cold Lake Liberal Party of Canada candidate is opening her doors as campaigning begins for the federal election. Maggie Farrington will be holding her campaign launch and will speak with voters on September 17.

“I look forward to delivering the message of all the progress the Liberal government has made for the people of Alberta,” said Farrington.

Farrington is currently the CEO of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and serves as the Chair of Wood Buffalo Housing and Development Corporation. She lives in Fort McMurray with her husband and two children.

In the past, Farrington served as Vice-Chair of the Wood Buffalo Wildfire Recovery Committee and as a Board member for Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta.

Farrington says Canada has seen improvements under a Liberal government. “Unemployment and childhood poverty are at historic lows, foreign direct investment, GDP and disposable income all continue to rise.  And the Liberals did it all while respecting, women and LGBTQQIP2SAA rights, being welcoming to newcomers and respecting the environment.”

Farrington’s campaign launch starts at 6 p.m. at her campaign office on 100002A Mackinnon Street in Fort McMurray on September 17.
