Mounties cracking down on secondary highway speeding

Mounties are saying a long weekend speeding crackdown took place on some secondary highways across the province including one that runs through the Lakeland. Police say they were out in full force on Highways 9, 884 and Highway 41.

160 tickets for speeding were issued over two days including over 50 for speeding through construction zones. The RCMP says it encourages everyone to slow down and focus on the road.

Mounties say the crackdown on unsafe driving will continue on those highways and others well into October.
