Mounties investigate separate shootings over the weekend

Cold Lake Mounties say they’re currently investigating a pair of shootings in the region over the weekend. Mounties say early in the morning of August 25th they were called to the Elizabeth Metis Settlement after what appeared to be a drive-by shooting. Two shots hit a residence, severely injuring a man inside the home. He was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital with what police are calling “serious life threatening injuries”.

An hour later police were called to a home in the MD of Bonnyville where another separate shooting occurred. Mounties say they found another man seriously hurt inside that home. He was taken to hospital. His condition is not known.

The RCMP says they believe the shootings were targeted and not random. Mounties are looking for anyone who may have info on both the incidents to call the Cold Lake detachment at 780-594-3301 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
