Bonnyville cannabis store lights up with grand opening

The first legal cannabis store in Bonnyville has opened its doors. Canna Cabana at 5506 50th Ave sparked up business last Wednesday. Store Manager Lindsay Leighton says the first day saw eager customers having a peek around the shop.

“It was actually really good. For us not having a ton of advertising out there, there was a lot of word of mouth going around and we still managed to pull off a pretty good customer base.”

Cold Lake and Lac La Biche received OK’s on their Alberta Cannabis License applications first back when the drug was legalized back in October of 2018. Leighton admits competition is a little scarce for now but she says she’s already hearing compliments on the store.

“They like the fact that the store has an open floor plan. Nothing is hidden. They get to see all the products and accessories. It’s just a welcoming environment behind it.”

Canna Cabana is a chain of cannabis retailers owned by High Tide Incorporated.
