AG minister makes Lakeland stops on farm Feedom and Safety Act tour

Alberta Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Devin Dreeshan has been touring the Lakeland talking about a potential replacement for a controversial piece of legislature. The minister was in both Vermilion and St. Paul last week to talk about the United Conservative plans to replace Bill 6, or the Enhanced Protection for Farm and Ranch Workers Act.

The UCP government plans to repeal the act and replace it with the Farm Freedom and Safety Act. The meetings are a two-part process to consultation. The government has an online survey up as well to gauge opinion. It runs until August 31st.

Bill 6 became law back in 2016.
