Bonnyville Public Safety Officers share details of busy spring

As the weather became warmer, officers from the M.D of Bonnyville Public Safety Department found themselves quite busy during the spring months.

During a presentation of the quarterly report to council, Director Chris Garner says in all, his officers handed out 298 provincial tickets, along with 20 bylaw tickets. He adds on top of those numbers, the team also passed along 285 provincial written warnings and one bylaw written warning.

Top of the list when it comes to citations was speeding drivers throughout all the wards in the area followed by incidents involving animals. Specifically, tickets issued for dogs running at large, showing aggressive behaviour or being a nuisance.

Garner added officers also performed 442 crime prevention patrols and took on 292 vacant home checks.
