Vilna pets left looking for new homes

Around 180 animals are looking for help after their discovery on a Lakeland farm. Teresa Wolansky lives near Cold Lake and says she was asked by some family friends to look after a farm near Vilna. When she stopped by to check up on the property, Wolansky says she was greeted by many animals in need of care.

“There were dogs and puppies everywhere. There were about 100 goats, a rooster, some chickens, a pot-bellied pig. A lot of horses and their babies.”

Wolansky started posting on social media about the animals. A rescue page has been set up on Facebook that provides updates on the animals as well as more information about donating. Wolansky says care and feeding starts to take up time and money quickly.

“It didn’t take long for it to start to become overwhelming, looking after a situation that wasn’t ours but we kind of took the ownership of it.”

Wolansky says both owners of the property have agreed to re-home the animals.
