The Town of Bonnyville Supporting a Bid to Bring The World Jr A Challenge

A bid for the world Jr. A Challenge will be supported by the Town of Bonnyville. Town council heard from a committee vying to bring the prestigious event to town.

Gene Sobolewski, Mayor of Bonnyville, says the tournament brings great economic opportunities to the area. “There’s a lot of opportunity here,” explains Sobolewski, “it was last in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and Hockey Canada did a study that showed it brought $2 million to the region.”

Along with the economic benefits, Mayor Sobolewski says, “The World Jr A Challenge will bring some of the most elite hockey players from all around the world to town.”

The bid to host the event is due on September 1st, 2015
