Lakeland LGBTQ2 readies for Pride Festival

The Lakeland LGBTQ2 Pride committee is ready to celebrate. The local chapter is readying for their Pride Festival on July 6th in Cold Lake. Committee chair Ada Andrzejewska says the group has been around for a number of years but has some new faces for 2019.

“This new committee is extremely eager and excited to get the festival going as well as events throughout the year as well.”

The festival is a free event for all ages at Kinosoo Beach. A fundraising barbecue, face painting as well as live music and vendors are all on the schedule. Andrzejewski says the day is a celebration of all members of the community and the support the LGBTQ2 receives from the area.

“There are lots of questions with pronouns and fear around that stuff. We want to make it known that we’re here to answer questions and make sure everyone feels included and loved.”

More information on the festival as well as the Lakeland LGBTQ2 committee is found on their Facebook page.
