$250,000 in stolen equipment found near CLAWR

Mounties in Cold Lake say one man is in custody and facing charges stemming from around $250,000 worth of stolen property. On June 18th the RCMP executed a search warrant on a property near the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range. It was there where mounties say they found multiple stolen trucks, trailers, heavy machinery and other hot items.

Mounties say the owner of the property, Douglas Charland, was picked up two days later by Edson RCMP on charges of breaking and entering. He now faces nine more charges related to the search warrant.

Police say Charland will stay in custody and is due to make an appearance in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday via CCTV.

Mounties believe the equipment was stolen from as far away as Edmonton.
