Bonnyville RCMP hosting charity event for Mayerthorpe statue

A very special day is on tap for the Bonnyville RCMP on Friday. The detachment is hosting a charity event to help pay for the restoration of the “Fallen Four” Memorial Park in Mayerthorpe. The park is in memory of the four RCMP officers killed in 2005 while in the line of duty near Mayerthorpe.

The memorial needs about $17,000 worth of repairs. A barbecue, bake sale and garage sale are all on the schedule and all money raised is going to support the cost of the restorations.

The afternoon is due to begin at 11 AM and run until 2 PM. Cost is entirely by donation.
