LLB mounties investigate attempted child luring

Lac La Biche RCMP says they are on the lookout after an attempted case of child luring. Police say it happened on Tuesday evening at around 8 pm.

A child was walking near 102 Avenue in the hamlet of Plamondon when he says he was approached by a man in a vehicle and asked if he wanted a chocolate bar. The boy resisted and ran home. The police were then notified.

The suspect was wearing black clothes and driving a newer black SUV or pickup with a canopy. Mounties say they’re still investigating. Tips on the crime can be submitted to the Lac La Biche RCMP detachment at 780-404-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The RCMP says they remind parents to have a talk with their children about strangers and safety.
