WPHA signs on with Greater Metro Junior league

The hockey league featuring Cold Lake’s Junior A hockey club is moving under the umbrella of another faction. The Cold Lake Wings and the Western Provinces Hockey Association have announced they are joining with the Greater Metro Hockey League.

The WPHA was previously under the guise of the American based Western States Hockey League. The GMHL is a Canadian based independent Junior A hockey league with teams based in Ontario and Quebec. The WPHA will become the new western division for the league.

The new league is not affiliated with Hockey Canada.
