4 Wing welcomes Marines for exercise

4 Wing is set to be a busy place for the next week. The Royal Canadian Air Force says CFB Cold Lake is hosting United States Marine Group 41 until June 20th for Exercise “Sentinel Edge”.

Around 900 Marine Forces Reserve members are on base working with RCAF crews. The RCAF says training will take place mostly over the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range.

During the exercise, a variety of different aircraft will probably be seen in the skies. RCAF officials say the exercise is planned to ensure public safety at all times.
