Lakeland firefighters make the long climb for charity in Calgary

Some Lakeland firefighters were in Calgary last Sunday to climb for a cause. The 5th Annual Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge in Calgary featured fire crews from across the province ascending the Bow Building in full gear. Ten firefighters representing the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority climbed the over-1200 steps to the top.

Money raised during the climb goes towards Wellspring Calgary, which supports firefighters and the public who are battling cancer. The best time for the climb was 11 minutes and 31 seconds by a member of the Cochrane Fire Department.

This was the 5th year the event has been put on.
