Portage starts NAIT partnership on business degree

An opportunity at a business administration degree is now being offered right in the Lakeland. Portage College announced Tuesday that a partnership had been reached with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton to allow students to complete their third and fourth year Bachelor of Business Administration degrees without having to move to the campus in the capital city. The course is now offered at Lac La Biche and Cold Lake campuses. CEO of Portage College Nancy Broadbent says the partnership is a great way to give students a leg up on their future.

“As long as we have students interested in taking the program, they will be able to plan their lives, get started on their diploma and finish with their degree. They won’t have to relocate.”

Students who have completed Portage College’s two-year Business Administration Diploma program can now be admitted directly to year three of the NAIT Bachelor of Business Administration degree. NAIT Dean of the JR Shaw School of Business Dennis Sheppard says he’s always been impressed with the Portage College work ethic.

“During my years in post-secondary, I’ve had the opportunity to meet a number of people from Portage. I’ve always been incredibly impressed and in awe to a certain degree with the impact you have in your community.”
