61 percent turnout for Bonnyville – Cold Lake – St. Paul in election

About 61 percent of voters in Bonnyville – Cold Lake – St. Paul cast their ballot in the last election, says Elections Alberta. Official voter turnouts and results have been released and the turnout for the entire province has been tagged at 64 percent. Earlier unofficial numbers were higher. Elections Alberta says the list of eligible voters has been found to be higher than first thought.

64 percent is still higher than the 2015 election, which saw 57 percent of Albertans head to the polls. United Conservative Party candidate Dave Hanson was elected in the riding of Bonnyville – Cold Lake – St. Paul with just over 10,000 votes.

Premier-Designate Jason Kenny and his UCP cabinet are in Edmonton where they will be sworn in Tuesday at the Legislature. The first sitting is expected later in May.
