Lakeland beauty queen heading to Miss World Canada

A pageant contestant from the Lakeland is taking her talents to a national competition. Natasha Parkinson lives in Cold Lake and recently won the title of “Miss Northeastern Alberta” in Calgary. She says she hadn’t been competing in the pageant scene before the victory.

“I thought ‘Hey, why don’t I give that a try’. This pageant last February was actually my first one. I was amazed at the experience.”

The win lands Parkinson a spot to compete at the Miss World Canada competition held in Toronto in July. She’s excited at the opportunity to represent the area on a big stage.

“It brings together girls aged 17 to 26 from across Canada to compete not just for the Miss World Canada title but also Miss Supranational and Miss Intercontinental Canada.”

A Facebook donation page has been started to help Parkinson cover the cost of the trip and competition.
