Mounties are saying an attempted kidnapping near Lac La Biche has been foiled and a man is now facing serious charges. It happened on April 22nd. Police say at around 6 AM a man and two women were assaulted at a home at Beaver Lake Crescent. One of the women was reportedly forced into a vehicle which then fled the scene. The RCMP arrived a short time later.
A team of police including the Emergency Response Team and Major Crimes Unit located the suspect and the woman in a different vehicle at a different home. By 6 PM the man was in custody. The woman suffered minor injuries.
25-year-old John Mountain of Bonesville is now facing charges including kidnapping. He’ll stay with police and see Lac La Biche Provincial Court on April 29th
