Portage Art will be showcased this summer

Artwork from students in the Native Arts and Culture department at Portage College is making the rounds across Alberta this summer. The school announced on Tuesday that artwork from students will be displayed in four different galleries this year. The Rutherford Library Galleria at the University of Alberta, Alberta Craft Council and Native Arts and Culture program studio will all play host to exhibits until November.

The work will highlight topics including the importance of traditional storytelling and issues in society today. Dean of Faculty of Cultural Arts Donna Feledichuk says she’s excited for the public to get a taste of the talent at the school.

“These exhibitions represent wonderful learning opportunities for our students while giving them a chance to showcase their artistic talents at the same time. I would like to thank the NAC staff for all their hard work on these exhibitions and dedication to assisting our students in being successful.”

More information on the exhibits is available at the college’s official website.
