Crash near St. Paul kills one

Mounties in St. Paul are putting the pieces together after an accident on Highway 29 left one man dead and others injured. Police say last Thursday at around 4:30 PM they were called out to the highway about five kilometres east of St.Paul. Two vehicles were involved in the crash. Mounties say one vehicle was on fire when emergency crews arrived and a passenger was stuck in the wreck. The fire was quickly put out.

One of the victims was transported by STARS air ambulance to Edmonton where she remains in critical condition. Another was also taken to a hospital in the capital city. She was said to be in stable condition.

One man later died of injuries he received in the crash. His name is not being released by police. The RCMP says a team of collision analysts are now working to find the cause of the accident.
