Vandalism of political signs could lead to charges: Alberta RCMP

Police across the province are sending out a warning after multiple campaign signs for the 2019 provincial election were reported vandalized. Mounties are saying the issue has hit places like Smoky Lake, Grande Prairie and Edmonton. Police say some of the vandalism has included hate speech.

The RCMP is reminding everyone to respect the democratic process. They say vandals can be charged if they are caught. Mounties are urging anyone who spots vandalization of the signs to report it to their local police or call Crime Stoppers.

Alberta will go to the polls on April 16th.
