Budget 2019 doesn’t impress Lakeland MP

Lakeland MP Shannon Stubbs says she’s unimpressed with the federal financial plan. The Conservative member of parliament sounded off Friday on Facebook after the Liberals tabled their 2019 Federal Budget. In a video, Stubbs says the plan is just political gamesmanship.

“The Liberals are desperate to distract Canadians from their corruption in an election year. Budget 2019 is an attempt to divert the attention of Canadians with their own money.”

The budget was announced last Tuesday in the House of Commons in Ottawa. Highlights in the plan include new measures for first-time home buyers, lowering interest rates in student loans and rebates for buying electric cars. Stubbs says the budget falls flat when it comes to the oil and gas industry.

“There’s nothing in this budget that will help struggling oil and gas workers. Workers who have been kicked when they’re down by these Liberals’ anti-energy policies and attacks on their livelihoods.”

The 2019 Canadian Federal Election is due to take place on October 21st.
