Mounties track down armed robbery suspect in Kikino

Police are saying teamwork between Lac La Biche mounties and the Cold Lake Police Dog Services has led to a man being arrested after an armed robbery. The RCMP says on March 20th they were tipped off about an armed robbery near Beaverhill Road by Lac La Biche. Mounties say they were able to figure out who the suspect was and track him near the Kikino Metis Settlement.

The next day the team of mounties raided a home in Kikino. Police say they found the man hiding in the attic of the house. Items that were stolen during the robbery were also found in the house.

24-year-old Dustin Hardy of Kikino is now facing charges including robbery with a firearm. He’ll stay in police custody and see Lac La Biche Provincial Court on April 1st.

“With the threats exhibited by the offender during this robbery, it immediately became a priority for us to track him down”, said Cst. Guillaume Wilson. “We will continue to track down and arrest violent offenders, no matter how hard they run or where they try to hide.”
