Police dog gets assault suspect: Cold Lake mounties

Mounties in Cold Lake say they had to use the police dog to track down a man after an assault in the city. Police say on March 18th they were called to an assault in progress near 16th Avenue. The RCMP says the assailant fled on foot when the cops showed up.

Police Dog Harp was able to track the man down under a house. Police say 33-year-old Joshua Charland was taken into custody and had to be taken to the hospital after. He now faces charges including assault. He’s since been released and is due in Cold Lake Provincial Court on March 27th.
