Kissel takes home hardware from Juno Awards

One of the Lakeland’s own is standing tall in Canadian music. Brett Kissel was awarded the Juno award for Country Album of the Year on Sunday night. It was Kissels second Juno. He had won back in 2014 for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year”.

Just days earlier, Kissel was awarded a gold album for his single “Anthem”. He has also seen awards for his massive “We Were That Song” tour. The road trip saw Brett perform in 110 different stops across every province and territory in the country. The tour wrapped up in Bonnyville in December. Kissel says he’s grateful for the honour.

“What an amazing weekend. I’ve worked so hard this past year and put so many miles on the tour bus. It’s wonderful to have this recognition from the industry and fans.”

The 2019 Juno Awards was the 48th in its history. It was hosted in London, Ontario.
