Lafrance steps down as SPERD trustee

St.Paul Education says one of its trustees has resigned. In a release issued Thursday, the SPERD board says it has accepted the resignation of Subdivision D trustee Rhonda Lafrance. Lafrance had held the position for about 11 and a half years. She says she’s moving on to another opportunity.

“I am excited about this new journey in my career, but I will continue to maintain my keen interest in education. I have complete confidence in my fellow board members to continue the good work of serving our students, staff, parents, and community. Thank you to all of you who voted for me and supported me on this journey. I will cherish these memories always.”

Subdivision D covers the town of St. Paul and south on Highway 881. A byelection will not be held to replace Lafrance. Instead, other trustees will be absorbing her responsibilities as part of their duties.
